Is Crave Cookies Franchising required to inspect a franchisee's construction or remodeling progress?

- 6.3 Development. Franchisee shall construct (or remodel) and finish the Location in conformity with Crave Cookies Franchising's System Standards.
If required by Crave Cookies Franchising, Franchisee shall engage the services of an architect licensed in the jurisdiction of the Location.
Franchisee shall not begin any construction or remodeling work without first obtaining Crave Cookies Franchising's approval of Franchisee's plans.
Crave Cookies Franchising may, but is not required to, inspect Franchisee's construction or remodeling progress at any reasonable time.
Franchisee shall not rely upon any information provided or opinions expressed by Crave Cookies Franchising or its representatives regarding any architectural, engineering, or legal matters (including without limitation the Americans With Disabilities Act) in the development and construction of the Business, and Crave Cookies Franchising assumes no liability with respect thereto.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Crave Cookies' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Crave Cookies Franchising is not required to inspect a franchisee's construction or remodeling progress. However, Crave Cookies may choose to inspect the progress at any reasonable time.
Before starting any construction or remodeling, a franchisee must first obtain approval of their plans from Crave Cookies Franchising. Franchisees must construct or remodel the location to meet Crave Cookies Franchising's System Standards. Franchisees may be required to engage the services of a licensed architect in the jurisdiction of the location.
Crave Cookies Franchising's inspection or approval to open the business does not represent or warrant that the business was constructed according to any architectural, engineering, or legal standards. Franchisees are not to rely on any information or opinions from Crave Cookies Franchising regarding architectural, engineering, or legal matters during development and construction, and Crave Cookies Franchising assumes no liability for these matters.
