Is Crave Cookies Franchising required to inspect the franchisee's construction or remodeling progress?

- 6.3 Development. Franchisee shall construct (or remodel) and finish the Location in conformity with Crave Cookies Franchising's System Standards.
If required by Crave Cookies Franchising, Franchisee shall engage the services of an architect licensed in the jurisdiction of the Location.
Franchisee shall not begin any construction or remodeling work without first obtaining Crave Cookies Franchising's approval of Franchisee's plans.
Crave Cookies Franchising may, but is not required to, inspect Franchisee's construction or remodeling progress at any reasonable time.
Franchisee shall not rely upon any information provided or opinions expressed by Crave Cookies Franchising or its representatives regarding any architectural, engineering, or legal matters (including without limitation the Americans With Disabilities Act) in the development and construction of the Business, and Crave Cookies Franchising assumes no liability with respect thereto.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Crave Cookies' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Crave Cookies Franchising is not required to inspect a franchisee's construction or remodeling progress. However, the FDD states that Crave Cookies Franchising has the option to inspect the construction or remodeling progress at any reasonable time.
Before any construction or remodeling begins, the franchisee must first obtain approval of their plans from Crave Cookies Franchising. The franchisee is responsible for constructing or remodeling the location to meet Crave Cookies Franchising's system standards. If required by Crave Cookies Franchising, the franchisee must engage the services of a licensed architect in the location's jurisdiction.
Crave Cookies Franchising's inspection or approval to open the business does not represent or warrant that the business was constructed according to any architectural, engineering, or legal standards. The franchisee is not to rely on any information or opinions from Crave Cookies Franchising regarding architectural, engineering, or legal matters during development and construction, and Crave Cookies Franchising assumes no liability.
