What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Crave Cookies's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Crave Cookies Franchising is not obligated to operate all social media accounts for the entire Crave Cookies system. The document states that Crave Cookies Franchising "may (but is not obligated to) operate all 'social media' accounts on behalf of the System, or it may permit franchisees to operate one or more accounts." This means the franchisor has the option to manage social media at the system level but can also allow individual franchisees to handle their own social media presence.
For a prospective franchisee, this is an important distinction. If Crave Cookies Franchising manages the social media accounts, the franchisee may have less direct control over their local marketing and online presence, but they also benefit from the franchisor's expertise and brand consistency. Conversely, if franchisees are allowed to manage their own accounts, they have more autonomy to tailor their marketing efforts to their specific location and customer base, but they also bear the responsibility for creating content and maintaining brand standards.
It is important for a potential Crave Cookies franchisee to understand the specific social media policies and guidelines set by Crave Cookies Franchising. Franchisees must comply with any System Standards regarding marketing, advertising, and public relations, including any social media policy that Crave Cookies Franchising may prescribe. This ensures that all marketing efforts, whether managed by the franchisor or the franchisee, align with the overall brand image and strategy. Franchisees should discuss with Crave Cookies Franchising what is expected of them regarding social media and what support or training is provided.
