What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Crave Cookies' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Crave Cookies Franchising has the right to modify the Manual at any time and inform franchisees of these changes through any method they deem appropriate. This communication method does not need to qualify as formal legal notice. The master copy of the Manual maintained by Crave Cookies Franchising will be the controlling document in case of any disputes about its contents.

This clause grants Crave Cookies significant flexibility in updating operational standards and communicating those updates to franchisees. It is important to note that the method of communication is at Crave Cookies' discretion, and does not need to meet a specific legal standard of 'notice'. This could range from email updates to announcements at franchise meetings.

For a prospective franchisee, this means they must stay vigilant and responsive to any form of communication from Crave Cookies Franchising regarding changes to the Manual. Failure to adhere to these changes, regardless of how they are communicated, could result in non-compliance with the System Standards and potential default under the Franchise Agreement. Franchisees should proactively seek clarification on any updates to ensure they fully understand and implement the changes.

This level of control over the manual and its updates is fairly common in franchising, as it allows franchisors to maintain consistency and adapt to changing market conditions. However, the broad discretion in communication methods places a responsibility on the franchisee to remain informed and engaged with the franchisor's updates.
