What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Crave Cookies's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are explicitly prohibited from relying on any information or opinions provided by Crave Cookies Franchising regarding architectural, engineering, or legal matters during the development and construction of their business. Crave Cookies Franchising also assumes no liability with respect to such information or opinions. This includes, but is not limited to, compliance with the Americans With Disabilities Act.

This disclaimer means that while Crave Cookies may offer guidance or suggestions during the construction and development phase, the franchisee bears the ultimate responsibility for ensuring that all architectural, engineering, and legal aspects of the build-out are compliant with applicable laws and regulations. It is common practice in franchising for franchisors to provide prototypes and brand standards, but franchisees must verify compliance with local codes by engaging their own experts.

For a prospective Crave Cookies franchisee, this underscores the importance of engaging qualified professionals, such as licensed architects, engineers, and attorneys, to handle all aspects of the site development and construction. These professionals will ensure that the location meets all regulatory requirements and that the franchisee is protected from potential liabilities. The franchisee should not assume that Crave Cookies Franchising's advice is a substitute for professional expertise in these areas.

Crave Cookies Franchising's inspection and approval to open the business does not represent a warranty that the business has been constructed in accordance with any architectural, engineering, or legal standards. This further emphasizes the franchisee's responsibility to ensure compliance through independent verification and professional consultation.
