According to Crave Cookies's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to implement marketing plans or campaigns determined by Crave Cookies Franchising. This means that while franchisees may have ideas for marketing, the ultimate decision-making power rests with the franchisor. Franchisees must adhere to the marketing strategies and plans set forth by Crave Cookies Franchising. This ensures brand consistency and a unified marketing approach across all franchise locations.
This requirement extends to various marketing activities, including in-store marketing materials, websites, online advertising, social media presence, and sponsorships. Franchisees are not allowed to conduct any marketing, advertising, or public relations activities without prior approval from Crave Cookies Franchising. Crave Cookies Franchising also has the option to manage all social media accounts on behalf of the entire franchise system, or they may allow individual franchisees to operate their own accounts, subject to specific system standards and social media policies.
Crave Cookies Franchising also has the right to use any marketing materials or campaigns developed by or for the franchisee. The franchisee grants Crave Cookies Franchising an unlimited, perpetual, royalty-free license to use these materials. This allows Crave Cookies Franchising to leverage successful marketing initiatives from individual franchisees across the entire system, potentially benefiting all franchisees.
In addition to these requirements, Crave Cookies Franchising may establish a Marketing Fund to promote the system at the local, regional, national, or international level. If a Marketing Fund is established, contributions from all franchisees will be held in a separate bank account and used exclusively for marketing, advertising, and public relations efforts. This fund is managed by Crave Cookies Franchising, further centralizing the marketing efforts and ensuring a coordinated approach.
