What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Crave's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Crave reserves the right to grant variances from its standard menu to certain Crave businesses. These variances are intended to accommodate regional or local tastes or ingredients. However, the FDD explicitly states that Crave's decision to grant a variance to one franchisee does not obligate them to grant a similar variance to any other franchisee. This decision is made at Crave's sole discretion.
This policy allows Crave to maintain a degree of flexibility within its franchise system, enabling certain locations to cater more effectively to the preferences of their specific customer base. For a prospective franchisee, this means that while there might be opportunities to request menu adjustments to suit local tastes, approval is not guaranteed and is entirely up to Crave.
It is important for potential franchisees to understand that the standard menu is generally expected to be followed, and deviations are not the norm. Franchisees should inquire about the specific criteria Crave uses to evaluate variance requests and under what circumstances such requests are typically approved. Understanding these factors can help a franchisee better assess the potential for menu customization in their specific market.
