Under what conditions must a Crave franchisee reimburse Crave's costs for additional on-site assistance?
Crave Franchise · 2025 FDDAnswer from 2025 FDD Document
For the opening of the Franchised Business, we will provide you with one of our representatives. The trained representative will provide on-site pre-opening and opening training, supervision, and assistance to you for up to two days around your Franchised Business' opening. If you request that our representative provide additional days of on-site assistance, you must reimburse the expenses our representative incurs while providing the additional assistance, including travel, lodging and meals and you
must pay our then-current per diem fee. If you are opening your second (or later) Franchised Business, we have the right to reduce the duration of our representative's visit or to not provide opening assistance.
If, during the term of your Franchise Agreement, you request that we provide additional training or assistance on-site at your Franchised Business or if we determine that additional training or assistance is necessary, you must pay our then-current per diem fee for each trainer we provide, and you must reimburse us for any expenses our trainers incur, such as costs of travel, lodging, and meals.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Crave's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee may need to reimburse Crave for on-site assistance under specific circumstances. For the opening of the Franchised Business, Crave provides a representative for on-site pre-opening and opening training, supervision, and assistance for up to two days. If the franchisee requests the representative to provide additional days of on-site assistance, the franchisee must reimburse the representative's expenses, including travel, lodging, and meals, and pay Crave's then-current per diem fee.
Additionally, during the term of the Franchise Agreement, if the franchisee requests additional training or assistance on-site, or if Crave determines that additional training or assistance is necessary, the franchisee must pay Crave's then-current per diem fee for each trainer provided. The franchisee is also responsible for reimbursing Crave for any expenses the trainers incur, such as travel, lodging, and meals.
This means that while Crave provides initial support, any extra support requested by the franchisee or deemed necessary by Crave comes at the franchisee's expense. The franchisee will need to budget for these potential costs, which include both a per diem fee for the trainer(s) and reimbursement of their travel, lodging, and meal expenses. This is a fairly standard practice in franchising, as it ensures that franchisees who require more support bear the direct costs associated with it.
