What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Crave's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the topics covered in social media training are included in the Confidential Operations Manual. For the food truck version, this training is detailed on pages 41-58. For the express restaurant version, social media training is detailed on pages 52-73. For the restaurant version, the FDD does not list social media training as a topic covered in the manual.
However, the FDD does state that franchisees are not permitted to promote their franchised business or use any of Crave's proprietary marks on social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, X, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube without prior written approval from Crave. Crave maintains control over all social media initiatives. Franchisees must adhere to Crave's system standards regarding social media use, which includes restrictions on franchisees and their employees posting comments about the franchised business or the system, except on websites authorized by Crave.
Crave will provide access to branded social media pages, handles, and assets, which franchisees are required to update regularly. Crave also reserves the right to conduct collective or national campaigns via local social media on behalf of the franchisee. Crave retains sole ownership of the copyrights to all material on any website they establish and maintain, including any material provided by the franchisee for their "click through" subpage.
