Does Crave have the right to reduce or eliminate opening assistance for franchisees opening their second or later Franchised Business?

Crave Franchise · 2025 FDD

Answer from 2025 FDD Document

For the opening of the Franchised Business, we will provide you with one of our representatives. The trained representative will provide on-site pre-opening and opening training, supervision, and assistance to you for up to two days around your Franchised Business' opening. If you request that our representative provide additional days of on-site assistance, you must reimburse the expenses our representative incurs while providing the additional assistance, including travel, lodging and meals and you

must pay our then-current per diem fee. If you are opening your second (or later) Franchised Business, we have the right to reduce the duration of our representative's visit or to not provide opening assistance.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Crave's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Crave has the right to reduce or eliminate opening assistance for franchisees opening their second or later Franchised Business. For the opening of the first Franchised Business, Crave will provide a representative for on-site pre-opening and opening training, supervision, and assistance for up to two days around the opening.

However, if a franchisee is opening their second or later Franchised Business, Crave has the right to reduce the duration of the representative's visit or to not provide opening assistance at all. If the franchisee requests additional on-site assistance beyond the initial two days, they must reimburse Crave's representative for expenses, including travel, lodging, and meals, and pay Crave's then-current per diem fee.

This policy could impact franchisees planning to expand with multiple Crave locations. The reduction or elimination of opening assistance for subsequent locations could mean increased costs for the franchisee, who may need to hire and train additional staff or pay for extended support from Crave if they desire it. Franchisees should factor these potential costs into their business plans when considering opening multiple Crave franchises.
