What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Crave's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Crave is not required to grant a menu variance to all franchisees even if a variance is granted to some. Crave retains the sole discretion to grant variances from the standard menu to certain Crave businesses. These variances are intended to accommodate regional or local tastes or ingredients.
This means that a prospective Crave franchisee should not assume that they will be able to modify the standard menu, even if other franchisees have been granted permission to do so. The decision to grant a menu variance is entirely at Crave's discretion.
This policy is important for potential franchisees to understand, as it ensures consistency across the Crave brand while allowing for some flexibility to cater to specific regional preferences where Crave deems it appropriate. Franchisees should discuss any desired menu modifications with Crave during their due diligence to understand the likelihood of obtaining a variance for their specific location.
