What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Crave's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Crave has the discretion to grant certain franchisees variances from the standard menu to accommodate regional or local tastes or ingredients. However, Crave is not obligated to grant similar variances to all franchisees. This means that some Crave locations may offer menu items or variations that are not available at other locations.
For a prospective franchisee, this implies that while you must adhere to Crave's standard menu and operational procedures, there is a possibility that other franchisees might have menu variations tailored to their specific market. This could create a competitive advantage or disadvantage depending on the location and the specific variances granted to other franchisees.
It is important for potential franchisees to understand that Crave retains the sole discretion in granting menu variances. If having the ability to customize the menu is important, a prospective franchisee should discuss the criteria and process for requesting a menu variance with Crave before signing the Franchise Agreement. Understanding the conditions under which variances are granted can help a franchisee manage expectations and plan their business strategy accordingly.
