What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Crave's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee must obtain acceptance of the municipality in which their food truck will operate before beginning operations. Once the municipality is accepted by Crave, the franchisor will designate the franchisee's designated territory.
If the franchisee cannot locate a suitable municipality within 90 days of signing the franchise agreement, Crave may either extend the timeframe or terminate the agreement. Furthermore, franchisees are not allowed to operate their Crave food truck outside of their designated territory without prior written consent from Crave.
This requirement ensures that Crave maintains control over where its brand is represented and helps to avoid market saturation or conflicts between franchisees. It also allows Crave to assess the suitability of a location based on factors like local regulations, market demographics, and proximity to other Crave locations. For a prospective franchisee, this means they need to work closely with Crave during the site selection process and be prepared to potentially adjust their plans based on Crave's feedback and approval.
