What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Crave's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Section 8.1 of the Multi-Unit Development Agreement outlines the process by which Crave reviews potential sites or municipalities provided by the franchisee. This review is conducted to determine if the proposed locations meet Crave's standards and criteria for either a Crave Restaurant or a Crave Food Truck. If the site or municipality meets these criteria, Crave will approve it for development. This is a crucial step for multi-unit developers as it ensures that new locations align with the brand's standards.
This section of the agreement is important for prospective franchisees because it highlights the support Crave provides in the site selection process. While franchisees are responsible for finding potential locations, Crave's review and approval process helps to mitigate the risk of selecting unsuitable sites. This support can be particularly valuable for franchisees who may be new to the restaurant or food truck industry.
The Multi-Unit Development Agreement also includes further assistance from Crave, such as providing standard specifications and layouts for building and furnishing Restaurants (Section 8.2), reviewing site plans and build-out plans for conformity to Crave's standards (Section 8.3), and offering other resources and assistance as developed (Section 8.4). These provisions collectively demonstrate Crave's commitment to supporting its multi-unit developers throughout the development process.
