What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Crave's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a cooperative will include all franchised businesses within a designated geographic area. Additionally, Crave businesses owned by the franchisor and its affiliates may also be included in the cooperative. Each Crave business, regardless of ownership, has one vote within the cooperative. To prevent any single entity from dominating the cooperative's decisions, no single Crave business or group of businesses under common control can hold more than 25% of the total vote. As of the date of the Franchise Disclosure Document, no cooperatives have been established.
For a prospective franchisee, this means that if a cooperative is formed in their area, they will be required to participate. The cooperative is intended to help Crave businesses in a specific region work together on marketing and other initiatives. The voting structure ensures that all members have a voice and that decisions are not controlled by a single large operator or by Crave itself.
Since no cooperatives currently exist, it is important for potential franchisees to inquire about Crave's plans for establishing cooperatives in the future. Understanding the structure and decision-making processes of these cooperatives will be crucial for franchisees to effectively participate and benefit from these collaborative marketing efforts. Franchisees should also clarify how the geographic area for a cooperative is determined and what criteria are used for including or excluding businesses.
