What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Crave's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Crave may grant variances from its standard menu to certain Crave businesses. These variances are intended to accommodate regional or local tastes or ingredients. However, the agreement explicitly states that Crave is not required to grant a similar variance to every franchisee.
This means that while some Crave locations might have menu items tailored to their specific area, a new franchisee cannot assume they will receive the same flexibility. The decision to allow menu variations rests solely with Crave. This could be a significant factor for franchisees who want to cater to specific local preferences or utilize locally sourced ingredients.
Prospective franchisees should inquire about the criteria Crave uses to determine when a menu variance is granted. Understanding these conditions can help a franchisee assess whether they might be eligible for a menu modification in their specific location. It is important to note that franchisees are required to maintain specific food and beverage standards and must obtain written consent before deviating from these standards.
