Crave Franchise · 2025 FDDAnswer from 2025 FDD Document
Before you lease or purchase the site for the Restaurant, you must locate a site that satisfies our site selection guidelines. If we deem it necessary, we will conduct one on-site evaluation, but before we conduct the evaluation you must submit to us in the form we specify a description of the site, including evidence that the site satisfies our site selection guidelines, together with other information and materials that we may reasonably require, including a letter of intent or other evidence that confirms your favorable prospects for obtaining the site.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Crave's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, before Crave conducts an on-site evaluation of a potential restaurant location, the franchisee must submit specific items to Crave. These items include a description of the site in a specified form, evidence that the site meets Crave's site selection guidelines, and any other information or materials that Crave may reasonably require. This may also include a letter of intent or other confirmation that the franchisee has favorable prospects for obtaining the site.
This requirement ensures that Crave has sufficient information to assess the suitability of the proposed location before investing time and resources in an on-site evaluation. By requiring franchisees to demonstrate that the site meets the established guidelines, Crave aims to maintain consistency and quality across all franchise locations. The letter of intent provides Crave with assurance that the franchisee is likely to secure the site, making the evaluation a worthwhile endeavor.
The franchisee bears the responsibility for all costs associated with locating, securing, and developing the site. This includes ensuring the site adheres to Crave's criteria, which cover aspects like location type, parking availability, visibility, signage, co-tenants, accessibility, condition of the premises, proximity to competitors, utilities, population base, and median income. Meeting these requirements is crucial for the site's approval and the subsequent success of the Crave restaurant.
Submitting all required information promptly is essential, as the FDD states that franchisees must submit all information regarding the proposed site no later than 90 days after signing the Franchise Agreement. Crave then has 30 days to approve or decline the site. Failure to provide the necessary documentation or secure site approval within the specified timeframe could lead to delays or even termination of the Franchise Agreement.
