What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Crave's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to make upgrades and changes to the computer system and required software as requested by Crave in writing. These changes are referred to as "Computer Upgrades." Franchisees must also comply with all specifications issued by Crave regarding the computer system, required software, and computer upgrades.

In addition to these requirements, Crave franchisees must provide unimpeded access to their computer system and required software in the manner, form, and at the times requested by Crave. Franchisees are also responsible for paying all fees and expenses related to the technology required to operate the franchised business. These costs include, but are not limited to, expenses for the computer system, required software, computer upgrades, digital menu displays, internet access, license fees, help desk fees, and licensing or user-based fees, whether paid to Crave or to third-party vendors.

Crave also requires franchisees to establish and maintain telecommunications connections between their computer system and Crave's Intranet, or other computer systems as reasonably required. Franchisees must comply with Crave's requirements, as outlined in the manual or in writing, for connecting to and using the Intranet in their business operations. This includes purchasing and maintaining the necessary computer software and hardware to connect to and utilize the Intranet.

Furthermore, franchisees are prohibited from hiring third-party vendors to perform services or fulfill obligations related to the computer system, required software, or any other obligations without Crave's prior written approval, unless Crave has designated an approved supplier for such services. Crave may require any proposed outsourcing vendor to enter into a confidentiality agreement with both Crave and the franchisee.
