Can Crave designate refresher training programs and seminars as mandatory?

- 6.4.4 We reserve the right to conduct additional or refresher training programs, seminars and other related activities regarding the operation of the Franchised Business.
Such training programs and seminars may be offered to you, your managers or other Franchised Business personnel generally, and we may designate that such training programs and seminars are mandatory for you, your General Manager and/or other Franchised Business personnel.
We do not anticipate charging a fee for any refresher training, but you will pay for all of the expenses incurred by your trainees, including travel, lodging, meals and wages.

According to Crave's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Crave reserves the right to conduct additional or refresher training programs, seminars, and other related activities regarding the operation of the franchised business. These training programs and seminars may be offered to franchisees, their managers, or other franchised business personnel.
Crave may designate these training programs and seminars as mandatory for the franchisee, their General Manager, and/or other franchised business personnel. While Crave does not anticipate charging a fee for any refresher training, the franchisee is responsible for covering all expenses incurred by their trainees. These expenses include travel, lodging, meals, and wages.
This means that as a Crave franchisee, you and your staff may be required to attend additional training programs and seminars at Crave's discretion. While the training itself is not expected to incur a direct fee, you must budget for the associated costs of sending your personnel to these mandatory sessions. This could impact your operating expenses and should be considered when evaluating the overall cost of the franchise.
