What is the dependency for Crave to conduct an on-site evaluation of a potential Crave Restaurant site?
Crave Franchise · 2025 FDDAnswer from 2025 FDD Document
Before you lease or purchase the site for the Restaurant, you must locate a site that satisfies our site selection guidelines. If we deem it necessary, we will conduct one on-site evaluation, but before we conduct the evaluation you must submit to us in the form we specify a description of the site, including evidence that the site satisfies our site selection guidelines, together with other information and materials that we may reasonably require, including a letter of intent or other evidence that confirms your favorable prospects for obtaining the site. We have the right to approve deviations from our site selection standards based on the individual factors and components of a particular site.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Crave's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, before Crave will conduct an on-site evaluation of a potential restaurant location, the franchisee must first submit a description of the site. This description must be in a format specified by Crave and include evidence that the site meets Crave's site selection guidelines. The franchisee must also provide any other information and materials that Crave reasonably requires, such as a letter of intent or other confirmation of favorable prospects for obtaining the site.
This process ensures that Crave only invests time and resources in evaluating sites that have a reasonable chance of meeting their criteria. By requiring franchisees to perform initial due diligence, Crave can streamline the site selection process and focus on locations that are more likely to be successful. This also places the initial burden of site selection on the franchisee, who is responsible for all costs associated with locating and developing the site.
Crave also retains the right to approve deviations from its site selection standards based on the individual factors and components of a particular site. This flexibility allows Crave to consider unique opportunities that may not perfectly align with the standard guidelines but still hold potential for success. The franchisee must submit all required information regarding the proposed site no later than 90 days after signing the Franchise Agreement, and Crave has 30 days to approve or decline the site after receiving all necessary information. If Crave does not provide specific approval, the site is deemed not approved.
