What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Crave's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, 'Internet Companies' are defined in the context of transferring Electronic Advertising and Telephone Listings upon termination of the franchise agreement. These companies include internet service providers, domain name registries, internet search engines, social media and software companies, and other listing agencies with which the franchisee has Electronic Advertising and Telephone Listings.
Upon termination of the Franchise Agreement, the franchisee is obligated to direct these 'Internet Companies' to transfer all rights and interests in the Electronic Advertising and Telephone Listings to Crave. The franchisee must also execute any necessary documents and actions to facilitate this transfer. If Crave does not want to accept these listings, the franchisee must direct the 'Internet Companies' to terminate them or take other actions as directed by Crave.
This requirement ensures that Crave maintains control over its brand and online presence, even after a franchise agreement ends. It also prevents a former franchisee from using the Electronic Advertising and Telephone Listings to compete with Crave or otherwise benefit from the brand's reputation. Prospective franchisees should understand that they will not retain any rights to online assets associated with the Crave brand upon termination of their franchise agreement.
