You will offer beer and may offer wine from your Restaurant, unless local law prohibits you from offering beverage alcohol. What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Crave's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the estimated costs for business licenses and permits do not include occupancy and construction permits for a Restaurant. These particular permits are factored into the leasehold improvements estimate. The FDD specifies that the cost of licenses and permits can vary significantly depending on whether the franchisee operates a Restaurant, Food Truck, or Express Restaurant, and also on the location of the Franchised Business.
For a prospective Crave franchisee, this means that the initial investment for business licenses and permits, which ranges from $500 to $2,500 for a Restaurant and $200 to $1,000 for a Food Truck, does not cover all necessary permits. Franchisees need to account for occupancy and construction permits separately under the leasehold improvements category, which ranges from $50,000 to $250,000 for a Restaurant.
Crave strongly recommends that franchisees verify the costs for all licenses and permits required in their specific jurisdiction before signing the Franchise Agreement. Additionally, if the Restaurant will offer beer and wine, the cost of a beer and wine license is not included in the business licenses and permits estimate, and this can range from under $2,000 to over $100,000 depending on the location and jurisdiction.
