What is the basis for the high-end estimate for the 'Other Expenditures for First Franchised Business' for a Crave franchise?

Crave Franchise · 2025 FDD

Answer from 2025 FDD Document

nal Food Truck or Restaurant you commit to develop.

    1. Other Expenditures for First Franchised Business. These are the estimates to establish your first Franchised Business. Because you may commit to any combination of Restaurants, Food Trucks, and Express Restaurants under a Multi-Unit Development Agreement, the low end of this estimate represents the costs associated with establishing an Express Restaurant as your first unit. The high end of this estimate represents the costs associated with establishing a Restaurant for your first unit. Costs associated with establishing additional Franchised Businesses are subject to factors that we cannot estimate or control, such as inflation, increased labor costs or increased materials costs.

ITEM 8 RESTRICTIONS ON SOURCES OF PRODUCTS AND SERVICES

You must purchase or lease and install all fixtures, furnishings, equipment (including point-of-sales system and associated hardware and software), décor items, signs and related items we require, all of which must conform to the standards and specifications stated in our Confidential Operations Manual (the "Manual") or otherwise in writing, unless you have first obtained our written consent to do otherwise.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Crave's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the high end of the estimated 'Other Expenditures for First Franchised Business' is based on the costs associated with establishing a full-service Crave Restaurant as the franchisee's first unit. The total range for these other expenditures is $215,600 to $1,023,500.

This means that if a new Crave franchisee chooses to open a Restaurant as their first franchised business, they should anticipate potentially incurring costs up to $1,023,500 for these 'Other Expenditures'. These costs are associated with establishing the first franchised business and can vary significantly depending on the type of Crave outlet chosen (Restaurant, Food Truck, or Express Restaurant).

Prospective franchisees should carefully consider the implications of choosing a Restaurant versus a Food Truck or Express Restaurant for their first unit, as this decision will significantly impact their initial investment. The FDD also notes that costs associated with establishing additional Franchised Businesses are subject to factors that Crave cannot estimate or control, such as inflation, increased labor costs or increased materials costs.
