What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Craters & Freighters Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisee is solely responsible for all employment decisions related to their Craters & Freighters business. This includes hiring, firing, training, and determining wages for employees.
This means that as a Craters & Freighters franchisee, you have complete control over your staff. You are responsible for complying with all state, federal, and local hiring laws. This also includes managing employee compensation, promotions, record-keeping, supervision, discipline, and workplace safety.
While Craters & Freighters offers training, support, and guidance, it's explicitly stated that these resources are intended to protect the brand and assist in business operations, not to control the franchisee's decisions regarding employees. The FDD emphasizes that the day-to-day operation of the business, including all employment-related matters, is the franchisee's sole responsibility. This is a common arrangement in franchising, where franchisees typically manage their own staff while adhering to the franchisor's system standards.
