Can Craters & Freighters require franchisees to attend periodic courses?

We may require you and/or your Designated Manager (if applicable) and/or your Lead Salesperson (as such term is defined below) to attend periodic courses with respect to new methods, techniques, equipment, services, and procedures at such time and locations that we designate. You will be responsible for all travel and living expenses incurred in connection with any such courses.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Craters & Freighters' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Craters & Freighters may require franchisees, their Designated Manager, and/or their Lead Salesperson to attend periodic courses. These courses will cover new methods, techniques, equipment, services, and procedures. The FDD states that these courses will be held at locations and times designated by Craters & Freighters.
As a franchisee, this means you, your designated manager, or your lead salesperson may be obligated to attend these periodic courses. It is important to note that the franchisee is responsible for all travel and living expenses incurred while attending these courses.
This requirement is fairly standard in franchising, as it allows the franchisor to keep franchisees up-to-date on important changes and improvements to the system. However, the financial burden of travel and living expenses should be carefully considered by prospective franchisees when evaluating the overall cost of the franchise.
