What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Craters & Freighters's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, during the first year of operation, Craters & Freighters will conduct one on-site visit that lasts three business days at no charge to the franchisee, if the franchisee requests it. After the initial visit, Craters & Freighters will provide on-site visits at the franchisee's reasonable request or if Craters & Freighters determines a visit is necessary.
However, after the initial visit, the franchisee is responsible for paying Craters & Freighters's travel and living expenses, as well as the current daily per-diem fee as outlined in the Operations Manuals. This means that while the first visit is free, any subsequent visits, whether requested by the franchisee or deemed necessary by Craters & Freighters, will incur costs for the franchisee.
This policy is fairly standard in the franchise industry, where franchisors often provide initial on-site support but require franchisees to cover the costs of ongoing support. It is important for prospective Craters & Freighters franchisees to factor in these potential expenses when budgeting for their business, as the need for additional on-site visits could arise depending on the franchisee's operational needs and performance.
