What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Craters & Freighters' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the physical appearance and location of the franchise's premises must meet specific standards and specifications set by Craters & Freighters. Craters & Freighters will assist the franchisee in locating a suitable site for the franchised business. The franchisee must select a site within 60 days of signing the Franchise Agreement, subject to Craters & Freighters' consent.

The FDD outlines several criteria that Craters & Freighters considers when approving a site. These include a minimum of 5,000 square feet of warehouse space, location in an industrial area, highway access, and an overhead door. While a loading dock is recommended, it is not required if there is a dock door enabling the shipping and receiving of large freight items. If the dock door opens to ground level, a forklift is required.

The franchisee is responsible for all costs associated with developing and furnishing the premises, including financing, permits, compliance with laws and leases, construction, decoration, and the purchase and installation of fixtures, equipment, and signs. All construction plans must be reviewed and approved by Craters & Freighters. The franchisee must also use only signs, emblems, logos, and display materials that Craters & Freighters approves.
