Does the Lead Salesperson for a Craters & Freighters franchise need to attend the Initial Training Program?

Craters_Freighters Franchise · 2025 FDD

Answer from 2025 FDD Document

At least one member of your staff must be designated as the lead salesperson for your Franchised Business ("Lead Salesperson"), and such Lead Salesperson will direct the lead generation efforts and manage the dayto-day customer sales of your Franchised Business. The Lead Salesperson does not need to attend the Initial Training Program, but will be required to participate in any sales training that we may choose to provide (whether virtual or in person) at your sole cost and expense.

As also noted in ITEM 11 of this Disclosure Document, you, your Designated Manager (if applicable), and your Lead Salesperson may be required to attend periodic courses with respect to new methods, techniques, equipment, services, and procedures.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Craters & Freighters FDD, the Lead Salesperson is not required to attend the Initial Training Program. However, the Lead Salesperson will be required to participate in any sales training that Craters & Freighters may choose to provide, whether virtually or in person, and this will be at the franchisee's sole cost and expense.

While the Lead Salesperson isn't mandated to attend the initial program, Craters & Freighters may require the Lead Salesperson to attend periodic courses regarding new methods, techniques, equipment, services, and procedures. The franchisee is responsible for all travel and living expenses associated with these courses.

This policy allows flexibility for the franchisee in managing their staff training, but it also means they need to budget for potential sales training costs for the Lead Salesperson. It's common in franchising for specific roles to have tailored training programs, and Craters & Freighters appears to follow this practice by offering sales-focused training for the Lead Salesperson separate from the initial, more general training.
