What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Craters & Freighters Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee's use of the Marks is explicitly restricted to what is authorized by the franchisor. The franchisee cannot use the Marks in any way that isn't expressly permitted. This includes signing contracts or applying for licenses or permits in a way that could create liability for Craters & Freighters.

This restriction ensures that the Craters & Freighters brand is protected and that franchisees do not misuse the trademarks in ways that could harm the company's reputation or create legal issues. Franchisees must adhere to the standards and specifications set by Craters & Freighters in the franchise agreement and operations manuals regarding the use of the Marks.

The franchisee's permitted use of the Marks applies only to the operation of the franchised business and includes only the Marks designated in the operations manuals or in writing as part of the Craters & Freighters system. This means a franchisee cannot use any other mark, name, or symbol owned by Craters & Freighters unless specifically authorized. This protects the uniformity and integrity of the brand across all franchise locations.

Craters & Freighters retains the sole right to use the Marks for internet marketing, including websites, domain names, URLs, advertising, and co-branding. Franchisees are limited in establishing an internet presence and require prior written consent from Craters & Freighters. This control helps maintain a consistent brand image and marketing strategy online.
