Does the Craters & Freighters franchisee assume responsibility for the success or failure of their franchised business?

According to the 2025 Craters & Freighters Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisee is indeed responsible for the success or failure of their business. The franchisee has control over the day-to-day operations of their franchised business. Craters & Freighters provides training, support, and guidance to protect the brand and assist in the business's operation, but this does not exert control over the franchisee's decisions. The franchisee is responsible for employment-related matters, including hiring, wages, training, and termination of employees.

The franchisee must operate the business ethically, provide courteous service, and handle customer complaints appropriately. They must also cooperate with other Craters & Freighters franchisees. The franchisee is expected to devote their best efforts to attracting and serving customers within their territory. While Craters & Freighters may advertise on behalf of the system in the territory, the franchisee is responsible for local marketing efforts and adhering to the franchisor's policies.

While Craters & Freighters offers initial and ongoing training, the franchisee is responsible for all travel and living expenses associated with these training programs. The franchisee must also comply with the System Standards outlined in the agreement and operations manuals, and failure to do so constitutes a breach of the agreement. The franchisee is responsible for managing the franchised business in an ethical and honorable manner, ensuring customer satisfaction, and protecting the goodwill of the Craters & Freighters brand.
