What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Craters & Freighters Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchise agreement grants the franchisee a non-exclusive license to operate their franchised business using the Craters & Freighters system and marks for the Initial Term of the agreement. The franchisee can only operate the business at the approved premises unless they obtain prior written consent from Craters & Freighters.

The agreement also states that during both the Initial Term and any Successor Term, Craters & Freighters and its affiliates will not own, operate, or franchise a fixed location for another Craters & Freighters business within the franchisee's designated territory. This provides the franchisee with a defined territory where they can operate without direct competition from other Craters & Freighters locations.

In franchising, the initial term is a critical aspect of the agreement as it defines the period during which the franchisee has the right to operate under the franchisor's brand. It's important for prospective franchisees to understand the length of the initial term and the conditions for renewal or termination, as these factors significantly impact the long-term viability and potential return on investment of the franchise.
