What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Craters & Freighters Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee must provide Craters & Freighters with the construction plans for their premises. Before any construction begins, the franchisee must receive written approval of these plans from Craters & Freighters.
This requirement ensures that the franchisee's premises align with Craters & Freighters' standards for quality, design, appearance, function, and performance. These standards cover various aspects, including dimensions, design, image, interior layout, décor, fixtures, equipment, computer hardware and software, signs, and color schemes.
The franchisee is responsible for all costs associated with developing and furnishing the premises. This includes securing financing, obtaining necessary permits and licenses, complying with all applicable laws and the lease, constructing improvements, decorating, purchasing and installing fixtures and equipment, and buying an initial inventory of materials and supplies. The franchisee must also use only signs, emblems, lettering, logos, and display materials approved by Craters & Freighters, both inside and outside the premises.
