Can I use Crab N Spice's copyrighted materials outside of the franchise term?

Based on the 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchise agreement between Crab N Spice Group and the franchisee includes licensing of the System, which incorporates copyrighted materials. Specifically, the System includes methods, procedures, and standards for operating a Crab N Spice business, plans, specifications, equipment, signage, trade dress, the Marks, training programs, business knowledge, and marketing plans.

The FDD states that CNS Franchising licenses data back to the Franchisee without charge solely for use in connection with the Business for the term of the agreement. This implies that after the franchise agreement terminates, the franchisee no longer has the right to use the licensed data, including copyrighted materials, as the license is only valid during the franchise term.
