What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to the 2024 Crab N Spice Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee is generally prohibited from hiring a third-party management company to oversee the business. However, this restriction is not absolute.
The FDD states that a Crab N Spice franchisee may engage a third-party management company if they obtain prior written approval from CNS Franchising. Importantly, CNS Franchising will not unreasonably withhold this approval.
This condition provides some flexibility for franchisees who may need assistance with managing their Crab N Spice business, while also allowing the franchisor to maintain some control over the operation and ensure brand standards are upheld. A prospective franchisee should discuss specific circumstances under which they might require a third-party manager with Crab N Spice to understand the likelihood of approval in such situations.
