What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to the 2024 Crab N Spice Franchise Disclosure Document, there is no initial training fee for up to two people. However, the franchisee is responsible for covering the travel and living expenses for all individuals attending the training. Both the franchisee and the manager are required to attend the training program, and it must be completed to Crab N Spice's satisfaction at least four weeks before the business opens.
If a new general manager needs to attend the training program, Crab N Spice charges a fee of $250. While additional training programs or refresher courses are not currently required, Crab N Spice retains the right to implement them in the future. The training classes are scheduled based on the needs of new franchisees and are anticipated to be held once per month at the site of the proposed location. The franchisor reserves the right to modify the length and content of the initial training program based on the attendee's experience and skill level.
The Crab N Spice training program includes classroom and on-the-job training. Classroom training covers establishing the franchised business, location design and layout, brand positioning and market overview, administrative tasks, and banking and licensing. The training consists of 4 hours of classroom instruction and 2 hours of on-the-job training, held at the corporate location in Palmdale, CA, or at the franchisee's location. The instructional materials include the Operating Manual, lectures, discussions, and on-the-job demonstrations and practice.
