What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to the 2024 Crab N Spice Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchise agreement addresses maintenance, appearance, and remodeling requirements through the definition of "System Standards" and the term "Remodel".

"System Standards" are defined as the mandatory procedures, requirements, and standards determined by CNS Franchising. These standards encompass a wide range of aspects, including appearance, cleanliness, design (such as construction, decoration, layout, furniture, fixtures, and signs), equipment, and uniforms. This means that Crab N Spice franchisees must adhere to the franchisor's guidelines regarding the look and feel of their business, ensuring consistency across all locations.

The term "Remodel" is defined as the refurbishment, renovation, and remodeling of the Location to conform to the building design, exterior facade, trade dress, signage, fixtures, furnishings, equipment, decor, color schemes, presentation of the Marks, and other System Standards. This indicates that Crab N Spice franchisees may be required to update their locations periodically to maintain a consistent brand image and meet current standards. This could involve significant expenses for the franchisee, as they would need to invest in renovations and upgrades to comply with the franchisor's requirements.
