We issue specifications and standards to you for applicable aspects of the franchise in our Manual and/or in written directives. We may issue new specifications and standards for any aspect of our brand system, or modify existing specifications and standards, at any time by revising our Manual and/or issuing new written directives (which may be communicated to you by any method we choose). We will generally (but are not obligated to) issue new or revised specifications only after thorough testing in our headquarters, in company-owned outlets, and/or a limited market test in multiple units.

What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Crab N Spice's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, Crab N Spice is not obligated to test new or revised specifications before issuing them to franchisees. While Crab N Spice typically tests new specifications, they are not legally bound to do so.
Specifically, Crab N Spice may issue new specifications and standards for any aspect of their brand system, or modify existing ones, at any time. These changes can be communicated through revisions to the manual or new written directives, which can be delivered through any method Crab N Spice chooses.
Although Crab N Spice will generally issue new or revised specifications only after thorough testing at their headquarters, in company-owned outlets, and/or through limited market tests in multiple units, they are not obligated to do so. This means that franchisees may be required to implement changes that have not been fully vetted, which could potentially lead to operational challenges or unexpected costs. Prospective franchisees should be aware of this flexibility and inquire about the typical testing process and the potential impact of untested specifications.
