Crab_N_Spice Franchise · 2024 FDD

Answer from 2024 FDD Document

We issue specifications and standards to you for applicable aspects of the franchise in our Manual and/or in written directives. We may issue new specifications and standards for any aspect of our brand system, or modify existing specifications and standards, at any time by revising our Manual and/or issuing new written directives (which may be communicated to you by any method we choose). We will generally (but are not obligated to) issue new or revised specifications only after thorough testing in our headquarters, in company-owned outlets, and/or a limited market test in multiple units.

What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Crab N Spice's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, the brand issues specifications and standards to franchisees through its Manual and/or written directives. These specifications and standards apply to various aspects of the franchise. Crab N Spice retains the right to introduce new specifications and standards or modify existing ones at any time. These changes are communicated by revising the Manual or issuing new written directives, which can be delivered through any method the franchisor chooses.

Crab N Spice generally conducts thorough testing of new or revised specifications at its headquarters, in company-owned outlets, and/or through limited market tests in multiple units before implementing them. However, the FDD states that Crab N Spice is not obligated to conduct such testing.

This approach is fairly standard in franchising, where franchisors maintain control over brand standards and operational procedures. The franchisee must stay updated with any changes to the manual or written directives to ensure compliance. The fact that Crab N Spice may communicate these directives through any method they choose means that franchisees must be vigilant in monitoring all communication channels from the franchisor.
