What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to the 2024 Crab N Spice Franchise Disclosure Document, the Hawaii Addendum specifically amends the disclosure document for franchisees in the State of Hawaii. The FDD states, "In the State of Hawaii only, this Disclosure Document is amended as follows." This means that the changes and provisions outlined in the addendum are applicable only to franchise agreements within Hawaii and do not affect the entire disclosure document for other states.

This addendum includes specific legal notifications required by Hawaii's Franchise Investment Law. It emphasizes that the filing of the franchise with the state does not constitute an endorsement or guarantee of the information's accuracy by the Director of Commerce and Consumer Affairs. Furthermore, it highlights the franchisee's right to receive the disclosure document and all related agreements at least seven days before signing any binding agreement or making any payment.

For a prospective Crab N Spice franchisee in Hawaii, this means they must pay close attention to the specific amendments and disclosures within the Hawaii addendum, as these will govern their franchise agreement. It is crucial to understand the rights, conditions, restrictions, and obligations outlined in both the standard franchise agreement and the Hawaii addendum to ensure compliance with state law and to make informed business decisions. The addendum serves to modify certain aspects of the standard agreement to align with Hawaii's specific legal requirements.
