This Agreement is made between Crab N Spice Group, a California corporation ("CNS Franchising"), and Franchisee effective as of the date signed by CNS Franchising (the "Effective Date").

What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to the 2024 Crab N Spice Franchise Disclosure Document, the Effective Date of the Franchise Agreement is the date it is signed by CNS Franchising. Specifically, the agreement becomes effective once Crab N Spice Group, the franchisor, signs the document.
This means that the franchisee is not bound by the agreement until the franchisor formally approves and signs it. This clause protects the franchisee from being held to the terms of the agreement before Crab N Spice has also committed to the relationship.
Additionally, the California, Maryland, Minnesota, New York, North Dakota and Rhode Island Riders to the Franchise Agreement each state that the rider is effective as of the Effective Date. This means that the terms outlined in each rider go into effect when the Franchise Agreement is signed by CNS Franchising.
