What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Crab N Spice's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisor has a 30-day window to either approve or disapprove a proposed site for a new franchise location. This 30-day period begins once the franchisee has submitted all required documents and information about the site to Crab N Spice.
This timeline is important for prospective franchisees because failing to secure site approval within this period can lead to complications. If Crab N Spice and the franchisee cannot agree on a site, the franchisee may not be able to meet the deadline for opening the franchise as outlined in the franchise agreement.
If the franchisee fails to open by the agreed-upon deadline and Crab N Spice does not agree to extend it, the franchisee could be in default of the franchise agreement. This default could then give Crab N Spice the right to terminate the franchise agreement, potentially resulting in a significant loss of investment and opportunity for the franchisee. Therefore, it is crucial for franchisees to gather and submit all necessary site information promptly to facilitate a timely decision from Crab N Spice.
