- C. Hiring and training employees.
We will provide you with our suggested staffing levels (Section 5.2), suggested guidelines for hiring employees (Section 5.2), operational instructions in the Manual which you can use as part of training new employees (Section 5.3), and our initial training program described below.
Our opening support (as described below) includes assisting you in training employees.
All hiring decisions and conditions of employment are your sole responsibility.
- F. Initial Training Program. We will conduct our initial training program. (Section 5.4). The current initial training program is described below. Training classes will be scheduled in accordance with the needs of new franchisees. We anticipate holding training classes once per month. Training will be held at the site of the proposed location. We reserve the right to vary the length and content of the initial training program based on the experience and skill level of any individual attending the initial training program.
The instructional materials consist of the Operating Manual and other materials, lectures, discussions, and on-the-job demonstration and practice.
Training classes will be led or supervised by Marlon Arsenal. His experience is described in Item 2. He has been working in our industry and with our brand since 2015es.
There is no fee for up to 2 people to attend training. You must pay the travel and living expenses of people attending training.
You and the manager must attend training. You may send any additional persons to training that you want (up to the maximum described above). You must complete training to our satisfaction at least four weeks before opening your business.

What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to the 2024 Crab N Spice FDD, Crab N Spice does conduct an initial training program for franchisees. The FDD specifies that Crab N Spice will conduct an initial training program, with the current program described in detail within Item 11.
The training classes are scheduled based on the needs of new franchisees and are anticipated to be held once per month at the site of the proposed location. Crab N Spice reserves the right to change the length and content of the initial training program depending on the experience and skill level of the person attending. The training program includes the Operating Manual, lectures, discussions, on-the-job demonstrations, and practice.
Up to two people can attend the training program without a fee, but the franchisee is responsible for covering their travel and living expenses. Both the franchisee and the manager are required to attend the training, and the franchisee must ensure that training is completed to Crab N Spice's satisfaction at least four weeks before the business opens. Additional personnel can also be sent to the training program. The training classes will be led or supervised by Marlon Arsenal.
The FDD also outlines a portion of the training program, specifying 4 hours of classroom training and 2 hours of on-the-job training for establishing the franchised business, location design and layout, brand positioning and market overview, administrative tasks, banking, and licensing. This training takes place at Crab N Spice's corporate location in Palmdale, CA, or at the franchisee's location.
