What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to the 2024 Crab N Spice Franchise Disclosure Document, compliance with the franchise agreement is essential for opening and operating a Crab N Spice business. The agreement grants the franchisee the right to operate a Crab N Spice business solely at the specified location. The franchisee is obligated to develop, open, and operate the Crab N Spice business at that location for the entire term of the agreement.
Crab N Spice also provides pre-opening assistance to franchisees, including location selection criteria, review of potential locations, standard building plans and specifications, system standards, and lists of approved or required vendors. Additionally, Crab N Spice offers pre-opening training to the Principal Executive and one other employee, along with guidance on market introduction plans and on-site opening assistance for at least 7 days.
Furthermore, the California Rider to the Franchise Agreement states that all fees are deferred until the franchisor has delivered all pre-opening obligations and the franchisee is open for business. This implies that fulfilling pre-opening obligations by Crab N Spice is a prerequisite for the franchisee to commence operations and for fees to become due. Therefore, franchisees must adhere to the franchise agreement to successfully open and run their Crab N Spice business.
