What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Crab N Spice's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, CNS Franchising has the right to require franchisees to join a purchasing cooperative. Specifically, Crab N Spice may establish a purchasing cooperative and mandate that franchisees participate in it under terms and conditions determined by Crab N Spice.
This means that as a Crab N Spice franchisee, you may be obligated to source certain supplies or products through a purchasing cooperative established by the franchisor. This cooperative could offer negotiated prices and terms with vendors, potentially leading to cost savings. However, the franchisee must adhere to the terms and conditions set by CNS Franchising for the cooperative.
While participation in a purchasing cooperative could streamline the procurement process and potentially lower costs, it also limits the franchisee's autonomy in choosing suppliers. Franchisees should inquire about the typical products or services mandated through the purchasing cooperative, the potential costs and benefits, and the degree to which the franchisor controls the cooperative's operations.
