What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Crab N Spice's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, the additional initial franchise fees, which range from $40,000 to $80,000, are due upon signing the Multi-Unit Development Agreement (MUDA). These fees are paid to Crab N Spice via check or wire transfer.
This means that if a prospective franchisee chooses to enter into a Multi-Unit Development Agreement with Crab N Spice to open multiple franchise locations, they must pay the additional franchise fees at the time the agreement is signed. This is in addition to the initial franchise fee for the first unit, which is detailed elsewhere in the FDD. Note 4 in Item 7 of the FDD indicates that the estimate assumes the franchisee signs a Multi-Unit Development Agreement for three to five franchises.
It is important for potential Crab N Spice franchisees to understand the terms and conditions of the Multi-Unit Development Agreement, including the payment schedule for these additional franchise fees. Franchisees should also be aware that these additional franchise fees are refundable as described in Item 5 of the FDD.
