What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Crab N Spice's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must not take any action that may harm the goodwill associated with the Marks. This means franchisees are expected to act in a way that protects and enhances the reputation and brand image of Crab N Spice.
This requirement is fairly standard in franchising, as the franchisor's brand and trademarks are key assets. Franchisees benefit from the established brand recognition, but they also have a responsibility to uphold the brand's standards. Any action that damages the brand's reputation could negatively impact the entire franchise system.
Examples of actions that could potentially injure goodwill include providing poor customer service, failing to maintain cleanliness standards at the restaurant, or engaging in unethical business practices. Franchisees should ensure that all their business operations align with the franchisor's standards and values to avoid any actions that could be detrimental to the Crab N Spice brand.
