(a) A prohibition on the right of a franchisee to join an association of franchisees.
(b) A requirement that a franchisee assent to a release, assignment, novation, waiver, or estoppel which deprives a franchisee of rights and protections provided in this act.
This shall not preclude a franchisee, after entering into a franchise agreement, from settling any and all claims.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Cr3 American Exteriors Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchise agreement cannot include a prohibition on a franchisee's right to join an association of franchisees. This means that Cr3 American Exteriors franchisees have the freedom to form or join groups with other franchisees to discuss issues, negotiate with the franchisor, or advocate for their collective interests.
This protection ensures that franchisees can connect and work together without fear of penalty from Cr3 American Exteriors. It promotes transparency and allows franchisees to have a unified voice within the franchise system.
However, the FDD also states that this does not prevent a franchisee from settling claims after entering into a franchise agreement. This suggests that while franchisees can associate, individual legal settlements are still permitted and do not violate the franchisee association protection.
