What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Counselor Realty's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee can apply to open one or more additional offices outside of their designated territory, referred to as an "Extension Office." To do so, the franchisee must submit a request to Counselor Realty that includes the location of the proposed Extension Office and any other information Counselor Realty may require. This request must be accompanied by a one-time fee of $750 for each Extension Office location. These materials are referred to as the "Extension Office Application Materials."
Upon receipt of the Extension Office Application Materials and the $750 fee, Counselor Realty has 30 days to review the application and proposed location. Following this review, Counselor Realty will notify the franchisee whether or not they consent to the opening of the Extension Office. Approval is contingent upon the franchisee and Counselor Realty reaching a mutual agreement regarding the minimum number of sales agents that will operate from the Extension Office.
Any Extension Office that Counselor Realty consents to must comply with all requirements of the Franchise Agreement and the then-current System standards. Additionally, the franchisee must maintain the mutually agreed-upon minimum number of sales agents at the Extension Office, one of whom must be a supervising broker. Failure to maintain this minimum number of agents may result in Counselor Realty requiring the franchisee to close the Extension Office or even terminate the Franchise Agreement.
