What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Counselor Realty's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Note J in Item 6 pertains to the training fees associated with initial and ongoing training for the franchisee and their key personnel. Counselor Realty will provide initial training for the franchisee and up to two key personnel at a location designated by Counselor Realty at a mutually convenient time. Supplemental training is also available.
The franchisee is responsible for paying $175 per trainer per hour for the training, including initial training. Additionally, the franchisee must cover all travel, living, and incidental expenses for themselves, their employees, and Counselor Realty's trainers. These expenses could range from $0 to $750 per person per day, depending on travel requirements and other factors. The exact amount of these fees and costs is unknown and may vary based on third-party vendors selected.
It's important to note that franchisees and their employees will not be paid by Counselor Realty during training. This means that the franchisee will incur not only the direct training fees and expenses but also the opportunity cost of lost productivity while they and their staff are in training. Prospective franchisees should factor these costs into their initial investment and operating budget.
