What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Counselor Realty's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the company has 30 days to review an Extension Office application after receiving the required materials and fee. Specifically, the franchisee must submit a request describing the proposed location and any additional information Counselor Realty requires, along with a one-time fee of $750 for each Extension Office location.

This 30-day review period is a standard practice in franchising, allowing the franchisor to assess the suitability of the proposed location and its potential impact on the existing network. Counselor Realty's consent is contingent upon reaching a mutual agreement with the franchisee regarding the minimum number of sales agents that will operate from the Extension Office. This condition ensures that the Extension Office will be adequately staffed and contribute to the overall success of the franchise system.

It is important to note that any Extension Office approved by Counselor Realty must comply with all requirements of the Franchise Agreement and the then-current System standards. Failure to maintain the agreed-upon minimum number of sales agents in the Extension Office can result in Counselor Realty requiring the franchisee to close the Extension Office or even terminating the Franchise Agreement. This highlights the importance of careful planning and resource allocation when considering opening an Extension Office.
